GAME LINKS SETTING THE STAGE
A huge clash sets up for Saturday morning as Quinnipiac (6-4-1, 3-0-1 MAAC) welcomes longtime conference rival Monmouth (6-2-2, 3-0 MAAC) in a battle of the top two teams in the MAAC and the lone remaining unbeaten squads in the league. This contest shapes up to be a complete clash of styles as the Bobcats enter with the top scoring offense in the MAAC while the Hawks own the league's best scoring defense. In addition, the last two regular season meetings were both decided in overtime (2016: Monmouth 2-1 win, 2015: Quinnipiac 3-2 win) as Saturday's clash shapes up to be a great one.
LAST GAME RECAP (QU 2, FFD 0)
Two goals within the first four minutes of play spotted Quinnipiac an early lead and a clinical team defensive effort finished the job in a 2-0 road win at Fairfield from Lessing Field on Wednesday night. The early goals from Kelsey Goldring and Ally Grunstein set the tone while Olivia Myszewski made five stops in net to give the Bobcats their first-ever MAAC win at Fairfield.
