Simon McCormack enters his second year in the role of men's basketball video coordinator at Quinnipiac for the 2018-19 season under head coach Baker Dunleavy.
McCormack joined the Bobcats after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Texas under head coach Shaka Smart. In that role, he was responsible for assisting the coaching staff with game preparation and scouting, putting together personnel reports and video for all 33 games.
In addition, McCormack also assisted the University of Texas men's basketball video coordinator with highlight videos, as well as assisting the director of basketball operations with practice logs, visit planning, scheduling, daily practice text reminders and overall logistics. He also created slide shows and videos to assist with the program's freshman orientation.
McCormack is a former Division I men's basketball player, serving as a team captain at American University as a senior in 2011-12. After graduating with a degree in marketing, he went on to work for three years as a sales analyst for GE Capital Real Estate, before getting back into college basketball at Texas in 2015.
In addition to his playing background at American, McCormack also has strong New England ties to bring to Quinnipiac. A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, where he served as a team captain as a senior in 2007-08. He also had an internship with the Maine Red Claws, a minor league professional basketball team based out of Portland, in 2011.
