Marsala Helps Lead Offensive Charge, Bobcats Down Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Quinnipiac men's lacrosse won its third consecutive MAAC game on Saturday, April 18, downing Iona by the final score of 19-7 from Mazzella Field.
19 goals marks a season-high total for Quinnipiac. The visitors led 9-5 in the first half, then QU won the second half 10-2.
The Bobcats (4-3 MAAC) have now clinched a spot in the 2026 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship.
Cole Marsala led the Bobcats with an 8-point day in the win. The junior scored three times and added five assists for QU.
Duncan Zielke added four goals and two helpers, while Nate Watson registered three goals and three assists.
Max Pauwels was dominant at the faceoff x for the Bobcats, winning 13-of-17 attempts to help control possession.

Zielke, Justin Robbert, Johnny Karafa, and Nate Watson each found the back of the cage in the second quarter to help QU take a four-goal lead into the break.
The third quarter was all Bobcats, as Quinnipiac scored the first four goals of the second half to push the lead to eight.
QU also scored each of the first five goals of the fourth quarter to complete a strong second half. Quinnipiac recorded 37 shots during just the second half alone.
