Bobcats Set to Begin MAAC Tournament Play on Sunday (4/26)
HAMDEN, Conn. – Despite a multi-goal performance from Johnny Karafa and Duncan Zielke, the Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team dropped its regular-season finale to Manhattan, 10-9, in overtime on Wednesday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Stadium.
With the result, the Bobcats finish the regular season at 5-9 overall (4-4 MAAC). Quinnipiac had already clinched a spot in the 2026 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship prior to the contest.
The Bobcats will take on Merrimack in the opening round of the MAAC Tournament on Sunday, April 26. Game time is set for 1:00 PM in North Andover.

GAME REWIND
- Manhattan jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, but Quinnipiac kept pace with goals from Ryan Downing, Johnny Karafa, and Brendan Johnson. The Jaspers led 4-3 after the first 15 minutes.
- The Jaspers dominated the second quarter, outscoring the Bobcats 3-0 to take a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
- Quinnipiac came out firing in the third quarter, shutting out Manhattan defensively while scoring four unanswered goals. Cole Marsala started the run, followed by AJ Amandolare and Nate Watson. Duncan Zielke capped the comeback with a goal with just 22 seconds left in the period to tie the game at 7-7.
- In a back-and-forth fourth quarter, Karafa's second man-up goal gave QU an 8-7 lead early in the frame. After Manhattan regained the lead, Zielke scored his second of the day with 5:35 remaining to tie it at 9-9 and eventually force overtime.
- Manhattan's Nick Henry scored the game-winner 3:32 into the first overtime period to secure the victory for the Jaspers.
- Johnny Karafa led the Bobcats with two goals, both coming on extra-man opportunities. He's up to 10 goals for the season, and has tallied three multi-goal contests in 2026.
- Duncan Zielke also found the back of the net twice to help fuel a third-quarter surge. The first-year Bobcat has 15 goals over seven games played.
- Cole Marsala continued his productive season, tallying three points on one goal and two assists.
- Nate Watson contributed a goal and an assist, finishing the regular season as the team's leading goal scorer.
- Ryan Downing, Brendan Johnson, and AJ Amandolare each added a goal for Quinnipiac.
- The Bobcats' defense held Manhattan scoreless for the entire third quarter, allowing the offense to erase a four-goal halftime deficit.
