Quinnipiac Drops MAAC Tournament Contest at Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Junior Nate Watson recorded seven points, but the No. 5 seed Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team saw its 2026 campaign come to a close on Sunday afternoon, falling 14-12 vs. No. 4 Merrimack in the MAAC Quarterfinals at Duane Stadium.
Watson led the attack with four goals and three assists, while Justin Robbert recorded a hat trick in the season finale. Jake Gallose and Ethan McGerald each chipped in with a goal and a helper.
Goalie Evan Miner made 22 stops to keep the Bobcats in the contest, marking the fifth-highest save total of any Division I player this year.

GAME REWIND
Merrimack struck first with a 3-0 run to open the game, but the Bobcats responded quickly. Justin Robbert found the back of the net twice in a two-minute span to spark the offense. Nate Watson also chipped in with a pair of first quarter goals to keep Quinnipiac within one, 5-4.
The second quarter featured an offensive explosion from both sides. After the Warriors pushed their lead to 8-5, the Bobcats stormed back with a 4-1 run to close out the half. Johnny Karafa, Nate Watson and Nick Meoni all scored during the stretch, while Watson's third goal of the half sent the teams into the locker room deadlocked at 9-9.
The Warriors regained momentum in the third, outscoring Quinnipiac 3-1. Justin Robbert provided the lone Bobcat goal in the frame to keep the deficit at 12-10 heading into the fourth.
Jake Gallose and A.J. Amandolare each found the back of the cage in the fourth quarter, but the Warriors held on for the postseason win.
