Bobcats Earn Home Win vs. The Mount on Senior Day

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's lacrosse outlasted Mount St. Mary's, cruising to a 14-8 victory on Saturday afternoon in Hamden. The Bobcats improve to 3-3 in MAAC play with the victory.
Duncan Zielke led QU's scoring attack with three goals and one assist, while Nate Watson also registered three goals in the victory. Cole Marsala also chipped in with one goal and two helpers.
Goalie Evan Miner impressed with 16 saves in front of the cage to help lead the Bobcats to a win.
Max Pauwels won 13-of-21 faceoff battles in the x and scooped up six ground balls for the home side.

GAME REWIND
The Bobcats took an early 4-0 lead on goals from four different scorers. The Mount would pick up one goal at the end of the first quarter to make it 4-1 through the first 15 minutes of action.
Mount St. Mary's scored twice at the start of the second quarter, making it 4-3 Bobcats.
Quinnipiac then scored six of the next seven goals before the break in action, leading 10-4 at halftime. Nate Watson scored three times in the first half of action to lead QU.
The two teams then played to a 4-4 second half, making it a 14-8 final score. Duncan Zielke scored twice in the second half, while Nick Meoni and AJ Amandolare each found the back of the cage once over the final 30 minutes.

- Evan Miner now has 96 saves and has allowed just 71 goals in seven contests. The Bobcats' goalie has registered double-digit save totals in six straight. 16 saves marks his second-highest single game total of the season.
- Glenn Platania, Duncan Zielke, Ryan Novak and Colin Redmond each caused a turnover to help anchor the defensive side of the ball.
- Max Pauwels won 13 battles at the faceoff x, a new season-best mark for the senior. Pauwels has 41 faceoff wins this season.
- The Bobcats had 10 different goal scorers in total.
- Quinnipiac honored its 12-member senior class prior to the start of the contest.
