Poughkeepsie, New York – The Quinnipiac Bobcats dropped their fourth series of the season, falling in game two to the Marist Red Foxes, 9-2, on Saturday afternoon in Poughkeepsie. With the loss, the Bobcats will fall to 13-19 overall and 6-8 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After shutting down the Bobcats in the opening inning, the Red Foxes scored four in their half of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. Marist scored four runs on three hits and left two on base in the opening inning.
The Bobcats got a run back in the second inning as Chase Camac singled home Peyton Vancas to get the Bobcats on the board. Marist responded in their half of the inning with a run to make it a 5-1 game.
The game remained 5-1 until the fifth inning, when the Red Foxes put up three more runs to make it 8-1 through five innings of play.
Marist made it a 9-1 game in the sixth inning as Noel Rivera scored on a balk.
In the ninth inning, Alex Irizarry hit a solo home run to make it a 9-2 game, but the Red Foxes closed out the ninth to secure the series victory.

- Alex Irizarry went 3-for-4 at the dish and hit his fourth home run of the season, which ranks second on the team.
- Irizarry also drove in his 23rd RBI of the season, which ranks first on the team.
- Caden Williamson extended his on-base streak to 21 as he went 2-for-5 at the plate. Williamson is now hitting .328 in his first collegiate season.
- Peyton Vancas picked up two hits in the loss, raising his season average to .260. Vancas has recorded multiple hits in six contests this season.
- Chase Camac went 2-for-4 at the plate and raised his average to .224 in his first season in Hamden.
- Camac drove in a run in the effort, his 13th of the season.
- Andrew Rubayo went four innings, allowing six earned runs on six hits and striking out six in his eighth start of the season.
- Mike Poncini went four innings in relief and allowed one run on four hits, and struck out three.
