Bobcats Complete Sweep Over Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Quinnipiac softball team completed a weekend sweep of Saint Peter's, going 3-0 after picking up two more victories on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One
The Bobcats' offense exploded in the second inning, scoring six runs to take an early lead.
Kinsley Cox sparked the rally with an RBI double after a leadoff single from Ally Hochstadter, while Noelle Reid followed with an RBI single. A Saint Peter's fielding error and a pair of productive groundouts from Mary Fogg and Sofia Vega added to the inning, while Riley Potter capped the frame with an RBI double to give the Bobcats a 6-0 lead.
Saint Peter's got on the board with a solo home run in the second, but Quinnipiac answered with another run in the fourth when Vega doubled and later scored on a wild pitch.
Vega and Hochstadter added solo home runs in the sixth to extend the lead before the Peacocks pushed across one final run.
Shannon Kendall earned her fifth win of the season, pitching 4.1 innings while allowing one run on three hits. Jasmine Kline closed the game in relief, tossing 1.2 innings without allowing a hit.
Game Two
Quinnipiac wasted no time getting on the board in the second game. Riley Potter launched a grand slam in the first inning to make it 4-0 Bobcats, and Noelle Reid followed with an RBI double to extend the lead.
Aryn Bombery continued the offensive surge with a two-run home run in the fifth, and Madison Waltke added an RBI single in the sixth to finish the scoring as the Bobcats secured the run-rule victory.
Laney Adie pitched a complete game shutout, allowing four hits while striking out three.
Quinnipiac improves to 7-5 on the season.
