QU Drops Pair of Games at Boston University

BOSTON, Mass. – Quinnipiac softball dropped a pair of non-conference games at Boston University on Tuesday, March 10. BU took game one by the final score of 7-0, then the Terriers won game two 12-1 in five innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Game One
Boston University scored three runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead. Kyomi Apalit singled in the first run of the contest for BU.
The home team also scored twice in the third, then two more times in the fifth inning to take the first contest of the doubleheader. Livia Christopher doubled in a pair of runs for BU in the fifth.
Irys Kline also drove in two runs for Boston University.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Two
Kylie Doherty made it 1-0 BU early, singling into center field in the first inning to drive in a run.
Aryn Bombery doubled to right-center for the Bobcats in the second, scoring Ally Hochstadter to even things 1-1.
BU then scored two times in the bottom of the second, once in the third and eight times in the fourth inning to finish off the sweep.

- Shannon Kendall tossed the first 4.0 innings for the Bobcats, surrendering five earned runs.

- Kasey Ricard went all 7.0 innings for Boston University, striking out nine QU batters in the shutout.

- The Bobcats had six hits via six different batters.
