Bobcats Down Manhattan, Advance to MAAC Semifinals

Atlantic City, New Jersey – The Quinnipiac Bobcats advanced to the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Women's Basketball Championship Semifinal with a 59-43 win over the Manhattan Jaspers on Friday afternoon from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 25-5 overall, marking the second straight season that QU has won 25 or more games.
The Bobcats will take on the winner of #4 Iona/#5 Siena on Sunday, March 8th, with tip-off slated for noon from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
First-year Ella Ryan made a solid first impression on the Atlantic City crowd, dropping 15 points and grabbing nine rebounds in her first taste of postseason action with the Bobcats. Ryan went 3-for-8 from three-point range, the most threes on the team in the win over Manhattan. Ella O'Donnell scored 14 points, including QU's first six points of the contest. O'Donnell shot 58.3% (7-for-12) from the floor in 23 minutes of action. Jackie Grisdale also reached double figures, scoring 12 points on three made field goals. Five total Bobcats recorded points in the Quarterfinal win over the Jaspers.

Ella O'Donnell got the Bobcats on the board first, and the Bobcats didn't look back as they took a 9-4 lead into the first quarter media timeout after Karson Martin drilled a three-pointer. Out of the break, it was all Jaspers as they outscored QU 7-1 to take an 11-10 lead after the opening frame.
Manhattan made it a four-point game to start the second quarter, but the Bobcats bounced back and took an 18-17 lead into the media timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats continued to build on their lead, taking a three-point advantage into halftime.
Manhattan knotted the game up at 23 to begin the second half, but Quinnipiac would go on a run to take a nine-point lead halfway through the third quarter. Manhattan was able to bounce back and cut the deficit to eight at the end of the third quarter.
It was all Bobcats to begin the final frame as Quinnipiac increased its lead to eleven at the media timeout. Quinnipiac outscored the Jaspers 9-4 in the final five minutes of the contest as they closed out the win to advance to the MAAC Semifinals.
