Martin Named MAAC Sixth Player of the Year

Five Bobcats Named to All-MAAC Teams
EDISON, N.J. – Karson Martin was named the MAAC Sixth Player of the Year, and five Bobcats were named to All-MAAC teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, March 4th. Jackie Grisdale and Ella O'Donnell earned All-First team honors, while Anna Foley and Karson Martin were named to the All-Third team, and Ella Ryan earned All-Rookie honors.
Karson Martin – Junior, Guard, Woodstock, Georgia
Karson Martin became the first Bobcat since Mary Baskerville (2022-23) to earn the conference's sixth player of the year award. Martin appeared in 21 contests this season, earning just two starts. The Woodstock, Georgia native ranks 17th in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (37.2%), 21st in free-throw percentage (88.2%), and 26th in scoring (9.95 PPG). In her third season in Hamden, Martin reached double figures in nine contests throughout the regular season, shooting 42.6% from the field.
Jackie Grisdale – Graduate Student, Guard, Poland, Ohio
In her graduate season, Jackie Grisdale earned All-MAAC first team honors for the first time in her collegiate career. Grisdale started all 29 games this season and finished with an average of 12.7 points per game, which ranks 10th in the MAAC. Grisdale also ranked third in the conference in three-pointers per game (2.4), third in minutes per game (34.2), fourth in three-point percentage (40.0%), eleventh in total steals (45), and 15th in field goal percentage (44.0%). In their last game of the regular season, Jackie Grisdale knocked down her 227th career three-pointer, which broke the program record, which was previously held by Sam Guastella '15 (225).
Ella O'Donnell – Senior, Forward, Shankill, Ireland
The forward from Shankill, Ireland, was named to the All-MAAC First Team for the first time at Quinnipiac. In her senior season, O'Donnell appeared in all but one contest this season and racked up 11.4 points per game, which was good for second on the team. O'Donnell ranks third in field goal percentage (50.4%), ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2), 10th in offensive rebounding (2.1 ORPG), 11th in assists (3.0 APG), 17th in rebounding (5.5 RPG), and 18th in scoring (11.4). O'Donnell enters the postseason with 88 total assists, which ranks second on the team.
Anna Foley – Junior, Forward, Andover, Massachusetts
Anna Foley was named to the All-MAAC Third team for the first time in her career after being on the All-MAAC Second team the last two seasons. Foley appeared in all 29 contests in the regular season, earning five starts. Foley ranks eighth in the MAAC with 27 total blocks, ninth in field goal percentage (46.0%), 11th in defensive rebounds per game (4.1), 16th in assists per game (2.4), 19th in rebounds per game (5.3), and 24th in scoring (9.3 PPG). Foley has reached double figures in thirteen contests this season and scored her 1,000th collegiate point in the win over Siena.
Ella Ryan – First Year, Guard, Brentwood, Tennessee
Ella Ryan joined the Bobcats this season and made an immediate impact on the floor. Ryan started 28 of 29 games this season and is the only first-year player on the team to have appeared in every contest. Ryan ranks third in the conference in three-point percentage (41.2%), eighth in three-point field goals per game (1.9), 18th in field-goal percentage (41.7%), and 22nd in scoring (10.1 PPG). Ryan has reached double-digit point totals in 14 games this season and has knocked down 2+ three-pointers in 16 games.
Eight Bobcats were named to the All-Academic team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
