Bobcats Fall in Season Opener to Seattle U, UNLV

LAS VEGAS, NV. – The Quinnipiac softball team dropped both games on Friday evening at the UNLV Desert Classic, falling to Seattle U and host UNLV at Eller Media Stadium.
In the first game, the Bobcats gave up an early lead and were unable to overcome a 5-0 deficit, despite an RBI single from Natalia Apatiga in the fourth inning. Four different Bobcats recorded a hit, highlighted by first-year Kinsley Cox, who went 2-for-2 in her collegiate debut. Seattle U ultimately pulled away, run-ruling Quinnipiac, 13-1.
Quinnipiac struck first in game two, as Riley Potter drove in a run with an RBI single in the top of the first. UNLV responded immediately with a grand slam in the bottom half of the inning and maintained the lead the rest of the way, securing a run-rule victory after five innings. Five different Bobcats registered a hit.
