Bobcats Down Fairfield on ESPNU

Fairfield, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats showed out on National TV as they defeated the Fairfield Stags, 72-58, on Thursday night in Fairfield. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 17-4 and 12-0 in MAAC play, becoming the last team in the conference without a loss.
Karson Martin led the Bobcats in scoring, dropping 19 points on 7-for-10 (70%) shooting from the field. Martin shot 3-for-4 (75%) from beyond the arc, tying the team lead for made threes in the game. Ella O'Donnell had a big day, scoring 18 points on 67% (6-for-9) shooting from the floor. Ella Ryan reached double figures once again, scoring eleven points in the win. Seven Bobcats recorded points in the fourteen-point win over the Stags.

Ella Ryan knocked down a three to get the Bobcats off and running on ESPNU just 31 seconds into the contest. After that bucket, the Bobcats outscored the Stags 9-7 to take a 21-7 lead into the media timeout. Out of the media timeout, the Bobcats maintained the slight advantage, as they led 19-13 after the opening ten minutes.
The Bobcats came out in the second quarter and jumped out to a 6-0 run to force the Stags to call a timeout with 6:54 remaining in the quarter. Out of the timeout, the Stags outscored the Bobcats 13-8, but the Bobcats still led 33-26 as they entered the halftime break.
Quinnipiac and Fairfield traded buckets to begin the third quarter as Quinnipiac's lead was still seven at the third quarter media timeout. In the final 4:13 of the third quarter, the Bobcats outscored the Stags 18-11 to take a 57-43 lead into the final quarter.
Five quick points from Fairfield to start the final quarter forced the Bobcats to call an early timeout. Out of their timeout, the Bobcats scored six of the next eight points to stretch their lead back to thirteen at the final media timeout. The final minutes of the fourth quarter were all Bobcats as they defeated the Stags to become the only remaining unbeaten team in the MAAC.
