8/6/2025 3:00:00 PM | Women's Basketball
HAMDEN, CONN. - Four contests against schools that competed in postseason tournaments last season highlight the Quinnipiac women's basketball team's 2025-26 non-conference schedule, which was released by Head Coach Tricia Fabbri and the program on Wednesday, August 6th.
The Bobcats' non-conference slate features nine total games, including four home contests at the M&T Bank Arena in Hamden and five road bouts. Four of the nine non-league opponents were selected to participate in postseason tournaments last season, with three advancing to the WNIT and one to the WBIT.
The new season will begin on Monday, Nov. 3, as the Bobcats open the campaign on the road at Boston University. This will mark the first time the two programs are facing off. Last season, the Terriers finished with a 12-19 overall record and finished 5-13 in Patriot League play. BU defeated Loyola Maryland in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament, 75-51, before falling to the regular season champions, Lehigh, in the quarterfinals.
Just three days later, the Bobcats will head back on the road to take on Rutgers out of the Big Ten conference. The Scarlet Knights were selected to participate in the WNIT, where they would win their first two games of the tournament. A tournament opening win against Army, 71-60, set up a second-round matchup with the College of Charleston. After defeating the College of Charleston, Rutgers traveled to the University of Buffalo, where they saw their season come to an end in the Great 8. This will also be the first time the Bobcats and Scarlet Knights will match up in program history.
Quinnipiac will return to Hamden on November 11th as they welcome St. John's for the home opener. The Bobcats and Red Storm have faced off one other time in their Division I history, with the Bobcats defeating them 75-72 back on Dec. 22, 2012. St John's finished last season with a 16-15 record and saw their season come to an end in the Big East Tournament as they fell to UConn, 71-40.
After their home opener, the Bobcats will make the short trip to New Haven to battle Yale on November 18th. The Bobcats are 13-6 all-time against the Bulldogs and are coming off a 26-point victory just a season ago. Ella O'Donnell led the scoring for the Bobcats, dropping 16 points and shooting 7-for-12 from the floor.
QU will return to M&T Bank Arena for two straight home contests. On November 21st, the Bobcats will welcome the College of Charleston for the first time in program history. The Cougars are coming off a 25-8 season and an appearance in the WNIT. After defeating Howard in the opening round of the tournament, the Cougars' season ended after falling to Rutgers in the second round, 89-67.
Two days later, Quinnipiac will host the Colgate Raiders for the first time since 2001. QU and Colgate have faced off five times in their history, with Colgate holding a slight advantage, winning three of those five contests. The Raiders finished last season with a 23-10 record and a WNIT appearance.
The Bobcats will head back on the road for two more non-conference games. Quinnipiac will head to Massachusetts for the second time this season, facing the Boston College Eagles on December 3rd. QU and BC last faced off in 2022, where the Bobcats' season came to an end in the WNIT First Round. Last season, the Eagles made an appearance in the WBIT but fell to Villanova in the first round, 76-70. Three days later, on December 6th, QU will head to Ithaca, NY, to take on the Cornell Big Red. The two teams faced off last season in Hamden, and the Bobcats came away with the 56-47 win.
Quinnipiac will close out their non-conference schedule on December 14th at home as they welcome the Maine Black Bears to Hamden. Last season, the Bobcats traveled to Orono, Maine, and came home with a 61-53 win. Anna Foley led the charge, scoring 20 points in the win on 8-for-13 shooting. QU is 5-0 all-time against Maine and will look to make it six straight wins in December.
Tricia Fabbri, the all-time winningest coach in Quinnipiac women's basketball history, recently completed her 30th season as Head Coach at Quinnipiac. Fabbri enters the 2025-26 campaign with 544 career wins, ranking 19th among active Div. I head coaches.
