HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program and head coach Rand Pecknold have announced the captain for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Senior forward Victor Czerneckianair will serve as team captain for QU in his fourth season in Hamden. Hailing from Southington, Conn., the forward has played in 117 of 118 possible games since putting on the Bobcat uniform.
He is one of three holdovers from QU's 2023 National Championship team and has played in seven NCAA Tournament games. He scored twice in QU's 2024 Regional Semifinal game against Wisconsin, including scoring the overtime game-winning goal. In his 117 games, he has 38 points and also posted a career-best 56.7 win rate at the faceoff dot this past season.
"It's a huge honor, especially knowing the standard that's been set before me," said Czerneckianair. "This program has proven excellence the past decade-plus, and it's time to push us even further. I'm looking forward to the group we have, as we can really do something special this year."
Czerneckianair and the Bobcats open the season on the road at Boston College on Oct. 3.
