Grisdale to Represent Team USA at 2025 FISU World University Games

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's basketball graduate captain, Jackie Grisdale, will represent Team USA in the 3x3 Basketball event at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.

The 3x3 format is played on a half-court with a 12-second shot clock and one hoop. Since its debut at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Team USA has continued to grow its presence and legacy in the sport that has become one of the fastest-growing urban sports in the world.
Team USA's 3x3 Basketball team is comprised of four student-athletes from four different institutions. Grisdale will be joined by Cece Collins (Columbia University), Lee Volker (Marquette University), and Talya Brugler (St. Joseph's University).
Team USA will play in Pool D with Poland and South Africa, and begin their slate on Friday, July 18th, with two contests. They will have a 10:55 AM CET (Central European Time)/ 4:55 AM EST (Eastern Standard Time) start time against South Africa before wrapping up Pool Play with a 7:35 PM CET/ 1:35 PM EST. Games on Saturday, July 19th, are determined after the conclusion of Pool Play.
Following pool play, the Women's 3x3 Quarterfinals are slated for July 20th at 11:50 AM CET/ 5:50 AM EST and 12:15 CET/ 6:15 AM EST. The 3rd Place Game is scheduled for 3:15 PM CET/ 9:15 AM EST and will be followed by the Championship Game at 5:15 PM CET/ 11:15 AM EST. Fans can follow Team USA's action via social media (@teamusa.fisu) and watch select games streamed live on FISU.tv.
Former Quinnipiac Basketball standout Maria Napolitano will serve as the coach for the women's 3x3 team. Napolitano was a four-year player for the Bobcats and played an integral part in the program's transition from the NEC to the MAAC. After playing for the Bobcats for four seasons, Napolitano had the opportunity to play overseas in Spain for two seasons.
After she wrapped up her playing career, Napolitano began her coaching career at the high school level and on the AAU Circuit. Napolitano began as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Maria helped lead the Indian Hill High School basketball team to three Cincinnati Hills League Championships (2021, 2022, and 2024).
