Quinnipiac advances to Sunday's Second Round Matchup with Siena
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program advanced to the second round of the 2025 MAAC Women's Lacrosse playoffs, defeating Sacred Heart by a 16-11 final at Siena on Friday afternoon.
Powered by a five-goal outing from Mia Delmond and a five-point day out of Abby Wise, the Bobcats set themselves up with a second-round date against the Saints on Sunday at Noon.
The first 12 goals of the game were split evenly, with neither team grabbing more than a one-goal advantage until the Bobcats ripped off three in a row in the second quarter to go up 9-6 at the middle point of the second quarter.
Quinnipiac extended the advantage as large as four, when Mia Delmond potted a goal at the 3:04 mark of the third to make it 13-9 at the end of the frame.
Sacred Heart cut the deficit to two with a pair of early goals in the fourth, but three in a row from the Bobcats iced it away.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats will move on to Sunday's second round contest, taking on No. 3 seed and hosts Siena at 12 p.m. at Hickey Field.
The game will also be broadcast live on ESPN+.

STATS AND NOTES
- Quinnipiac's 10 wins are tied for the most since 2011 with the 2023 squad that also advanced to the MAAC semifinals.
- Mia Delmond jumped up to seocnd in a single season with 48 goals on the campaign, one ahead of her sister EllaGrace and five short of Marissa Caroleo's program record.
- Abby Wise climbed within four points of the single-season points record by a Bobcat, jumping up to 66 on the season after her five-point day.
- Mary Hage caused a career-best three turnovers, leading the Bobcat defense in that department.
- Emma Miller-Ayala recorded her third multi-goal game as a Bobcat and first since March 1. It was her first career game with multiple goals, multiple ground balls and multiple caused turnovers.
- Anna Givens grabbed a career-best five draw controls while also adding her 20th goal of the season.
- Quinnipiac advances in the MAAC tournament for the second time in the last three seasons, as they defeated Canisius in the opening round game in 2023.
