Bobcats Head to the Road for Matchup at UMass Lowell

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team hits the road for the first time this season, heading to UMass Lowell in a matchup of teams off to hot starts.
The teams have combined for a 9-2 start to the season, with both heading to unfamiliar game territories as this is the Bobcats' first road contest of the campaign and just the second home contest for the River Hawks.

Teams: Quinnipiac (4-1) at UMass Lowell (5-1)

LAST TIME OUT: vs. Monmouth
The Bobcats used a 10-2 midgame run to take control of its contest against Monmouth on Saturday afternoon, as the home team closed out its homestand 4-1 with a 19-10 victory over the Hawks.
Six different players recorded multiple points for Quinnipiac, led by EllaGrace Delmond and Abby Wise each tallying five on the afternoon. Maggie Kennedy was all over the field, recording three ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Shannon Alden made 15 saves on 25 shots on her cage.
IN THE RANKINGS
First-year Shannon Alden currently stands eighth in the country in save percentage, highlighting three Bobcats currently top-10 nationally in a category. Cate Bendowski is converting on 71.4 percent of her shots, which is good for sixth nationally, while Mia Delmond's free-position rate of 83.3 is fourth in the country.
Quinnipiac as a team is fourth in the country in free-position percentage and eighth nationally in shot percentage, while they lead the MAAC in 11 NCAA stat categories.
WISE IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Abby Wise had a career day and came close to program history on Feb. 22, recording five goals and four assists for a nine-point outing against New Hampshire. She joined EllaGrace Delmond as the only Bobcats to have a nine-point day since the 2018 season and they are now two of eight to reach that mark in program history.
THE MATCHUP vs. UMass Lowell
In last year's matchup, Quinnipiac was not able to hold onto a fourth-quarter lead as UMass Lowell scored the final three goals in an 11-9 victory over the Bobcats in Hamden on Feb. 24.
EllaGrace Delmond scored four goals on the outing, while Abby Wise also chipped in a point offensively.
