Bobcats Can't Hold On After Strong Start to Senior Day

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team was not able to hold onto its strong start on senior day, falling to Sacred Heart by a 14-11 final at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden.
The Bobcats flew out of the gates, scoring six of the game's first eight goals to take a 6-2 lead after the first 15 minutes but were not able to keep the advantage.
Senior Abby Wise had another strong day, crossing the 100-point plateau and finishing with five points, scoring three goals and dishing a pair of assists.
EllaGrace Delmond also added a trio of goals, while Peyton Choma scored her first collegiate goals with a pair on the day.
After Quinnipiac's strong start, the Pioneers would score eight of the next 10 to take a 10-8 lead into the fourth quarter and they held the Bobcats off, ensuring the 14-11 victory.

Quinnipiac rolls on in conference play with a matchup against in-state rivals Fairfield on Wednesday afternoon, taking on the Stags at 3 p.m. in Fairfield.

STATS AND NOTES
- Wise increased her team lead to 41 points, with 20 goals and 21 assists on the season. Her 21 assists put her 12th all-time as she passed Ashley Bobinski for that spot all time.
- Sophia Coan recorded four draw controls, bringing her up to 45 which ties Sophia Iaccino's 2022 total for sixth-most in a single season by a Bobcat.
- Quinnipiac recorded 15 draw controls, tied for the second most by the team this season.
- Lindsay Mazzucco made her first start of the campaign, recording four saves on nine shots on goal.
