Bobcats Held a 6-2 halftime lead before host Fairfield rallied back to 9-8 victory
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team got off to a hot start against its in-state rival on Wednesday afternoon but could not finish it off as Fairfield scored nine of the game's 11 second-half goals to rally for a 9-8 victory over the Bobcats on Wednesday afternoon.
Quinnipiac flew out to a 6-2 halftime advantage thanks to three goals from Mia Delmond and a pair from her sister, EllaGrace Delmond, while Shannon Alden made five saves on seven shots on cage to give the Bobcats a halftime cushion.
The defending MAAC regular season champions would rally, however, running back to a 9-7 advantage in the fourth. The Bobcats were able to cut it to 9-8 with two minutes left thanks to a coast-to-coast goal from EllaGrace Delmond.
Emily Keegan appeared to force a turnover and give the Bobcats possession after a timeout, but an offsides whistle as the horn blew gave Fairfield the ball back and the ability to run out the clock.

The Bobcats hit the road again on Saturday, when they take on Manhattan for an 11 a.m. start in Bronxville, N.Y.
