HOW IT HAPPENED
The Jaspers opened the scoring in the opening inning as a run came in on a sacrifice fly. With two runners on and two outs in the bottom of the first inning, CJ Willis came through with a single up the middle to even the game at one.
Manhattan made it 2-1 in the top of the third inning as a run came in on an RBI single. CJ Willis came through once again with an RBI single to knot the game up at two.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Jaspers scored three runs to take a 5-2 lead. Quinnipiac got a run back in the bottom half of the inning as Kyle Garbowksi scored Gabe Wright on a sacrifice fly.
The sixth inning saw the Jaspers extend their lead to 8-3 after scoring three more runs in the inning. The Bobcats had the response as they scored four runs in the inning. Kyle Garbowski scored Gabe Wright with a single to get the Bobcats started. CJ Willis would force a bases-loaded walk to make it a three-run game. With two outs in the inning, Alex Irizarry singled through the right side to score two runs and bring the Bobcats within one.
The score remained 8-7 until the final inning, as Manhattan got themselves an insurance run on an infield single. Quinnipiac threatened in the bottom half of the inning and got a run closer on a sacrifice fly from Cole Constable. The Jaspers got the final out of the inning to close out the 9-8 win to even the series.
NEWS AND NOTES

- CJ Willis drove in three runs in the loss to push his season total to 30, which is good for third on the team.
