QU Split Midweek Doubleheader with Siena

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team split its midweek doubleheader with Siena on Tuesday afternoon, winning its first MAAC game of the season.
In game one, Siena scored first in the second inning but the Bobcats came back with two runs of their own on a Sofia Vega two-run homer in the third inning. Siena would take the lead back and not look back as they tallied seven runs between the fourth and fifth innings. QU would add two runs on a Riley Potter single and Sofia Vega stealing home but it wouldn't be enough as Siena won 8-4.
In game two, QU and Siena were knotted at one after two innings before QU put up six in the third inning, including a Sofia Vega three-run triple. They would add one more on Mary Fogg triple and would hold onto win 8-4.
