
Bobcats Drop Rainy Affair at East Carolina

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team dropped its final non-conference matchup of the season on Sunday afternoon, ending on the low side of a 17-9 scoreline.
Abby Wise recorded a four-point day, with a pair of goals and two assists, while Mia Delmond and Anna Givens each had two tallies as well.
After an even first 15 minutes, the host Pirates took control with a seven-goal frame to take a 10-3 lead into the break.
The Bobcats would score four of the next five, cutting the deficit to five late in the third but a pair of goals from East Carolina would put the game out of reach.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats will begin MAAC play on Saturday afternoon, welcoming Canisius to town for a 3 p.m. start in Hamden as part of a Youth Lacrosse Day doubleheader.

- Coan recorded a collegiate-best nine draw controls on the game, helping the Bobcats to a 15-14 edge in that department.
- She has 16 over her last two outings and is averaging six per game over her last five.
- Wise has 26 points over her last five games and is two shy of the 100 mark for her career.
- Givens now has six, two-goal outings in her first seven collegiate games with 12 total tallies on the year.
- Emma Miller-Ayala has now recorded a goal, ground ball, caused turnover and draw control in four games this season.
- Quinnipiac was 13-for-13 on clears, their first perfect day in transition this season.
