Bobcats Suffer Home MAAC Defeat to Iona

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team dropped its MAAC opener on Saturday afternoon, falling 16-7 to Iona at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
The Bobcats were not able to overcome a fast start from Iona that saw the Gaels jump out with a 5-2 first quarter and never look back.
Anna Givens recorded her first collegiate hat trick, scoring three second-half tallies. Mia Delmond also shined in the first half, recording the Bobcats' first three goals of the contest.

Quinnipiac continues MAAC play in a week, welcoming Sacred Heart to Hamden for a Noon Senior Day first draw at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.

- Givens has scored multiple goals in each of the last five contests, totaling 11 of her 15 during that stretch. It was her seventh multi-goal outing in eight appearances to start her collegiate career.
- Mia Delmond has a hat trick in six of her nine appearances this season and five of her last six contests. She has a team-best 23 goals this season.
- The Bobcats recorded 16 caused turnovers, the most by four over their previous high against New Hampshire.
- Sophia Coan continues her hot stretch at the draw circle, winning eight today. She's secured 24 over the last three outings.
