Balanc Signs First Pro Deal in Denmark

HAMDEN, Conn. - Former Quinnipiac Men's Basketball standout Matt Balanc has signed his first professional contract with Horsens IC in the Basketligaen (Denmark), as announced by the organization on July 30, 2024. Balanc will join Horsens for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.
Balanc led the Bobcats in scoring during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 18.5 PPG on 44.2% shooting. He earned MAAC Player of the Year honors after guiding Quinnipiac to 24 total wins (new program record) and its first-ever MAAC regular season title.
Balanc finished up his impressive career at QU with 1,721 points, which ranks second in the program's Division I history. He was selected to the NABC District I First Team following his efforts during his final season in Hamden.
He is just the third player in Quinnipiac program history to be named conference player of the year. Justin Rutty was named NEC Player of the Year in 2009-10, and Cameron Young earned MAAC Player of the Year status in 2018-19.
