Delmond, Kenny Score Five Each as Bobcats Secure Senior Day Victory

HAMDEN, Conn. — Thanks to five goals each from EllaGrace Delmond and Lauren Kenny, the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team got hot fast and stayed that way, potting 18 goals en route to an 18-13 Senior Day victory over Rider on Saturday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Stadium.
After Rider starting the scoring, the teams traded four-goal runs, with the Bobcats' going up 4-1 at the 9:55 mark of the first before Rider made it 5-4 with 2:40 to play in the opening frame.
The Bobcats claimed a lead they would not relinquish at the 7:56 mark of the period, as Delmond scored her second of five.
Amy Nicoloff scored on both sides of the Delmond tally, two of her three on the afternoon.
Rider cut the lead as close as two with 11:28 to play but Quinnipiac would claim three of the last four goals, with three coming from Kenny, en route to sealing the win.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats head back on the road Wednesday, taking on in-state rival Fairfield at 3 p.m.

STATS AND NOTES
- Quinnipiac recorded season-bests in points (25), goals (18), assists (seven), shots (42), shots on goal (30) and caused turnovers (14).
- Kenny's five goals are a new career high, besting the four she had against Old Dominion on March 13.
- Delmond scored in her sixth straight game and has 14 over the last three contests. She has a team-high 27 on the season.
- Nicoloff added her first hat trick of the season and her first since March 4, 2023 when she had three against Bryant. It is her second, three-goal performance as a Bobcat.
- The 18 goals for Quinnipiac are tied for the most since the 2022 season, when they scored 19 against Marist on March 26, 2022.
- Murphy added her eighth, multi-GB game and seventh game with multiple caused turnovers on the year. It was her sixth performance with two-plus in each category. She also added four draw controls, increasing her total to 38 on the season.
- Julia Steneck recorded a pair of ground balls and two caused turnovers, her second game with multiple in each category this season. Both performances have come in the last three games as she has totaled five ground balls and fived caused turnovers in the last three games.
- Maggie Kennedy recorded a career-high three draw controls and matched her collegiate best with two ground balls on the day.
