Delmond, Wise Score Two Apiece but Bobcats Fall at Manhattan

RIVERDALE, N.Y. — EllaGrace Delmond and Abby Wise scored two goals apiece but the Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team could not pull out a victory in a wet, sloppy affair at Gaelic Park in Riverdale on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats scored the opener and were able to cut a second-half deficit down to two, but Manhattan would pull away late as the game was called with 2:38 left due to impending thunder and lightning in the area.
Wise started the scoring, finishing a feed in front of the cage from Kalie Moore for her first of the afternoon. Manhattan rattled off five in a row to take a four-goal lead into the break.
Delmond scored her two within a 1:37 stretch, the latter off another assist from Moore, to cut the deficit down to two at 5-3.
The Bobcats would not get closer than that, however, in the defeat.

- Delmond extended her goal-scoring streak to five games, with four of those contests being multi-goal outputs. The Rockville Centre, N.Y., native has totaled 14 over the last five games.
- Wise has scored in five consecutive games also, potting seven during that span.
- Angelina Sparacio recorded a career-high three caused turnovers.
- Melissa Murphy led the Bobcats with three ground balls and added a pair of caused turnovers.
