HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Softball jumped out to an early 3-2 lead but were held in check after that, as the visiting Purple Eagles tied the game in the second and took the lead for good in the third en route to a 9-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Hannah Davis drove in a pair with a shot in the gap in the first to put the hosts up in the bottom half of the first, responding to Niagara's two-spot in the opening frame.

Brooke Hilliard went 3-for-4 on the day, while Natalia Apatiga reached in all four of her plate appearances, recording a pair of hits and a pair of walks.

Apatiga has recorded a hit in 12 of her last 13 contests. She's had multiple hits in eight of those matchups.
Hilliard matched her season-high with three hits today, going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Her averaged has climbed 38 points in the last week.
Davis recorded her second performance of multiple RBI, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Sofia Vega matched her season-best with a pair of knocks, her fifth, multi-hit performance of the season. Four of those have come since April 9.

NEXT UP
The Bobcats continue MAAC play this week, trekking to Fairfield on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon for a three-game set. Tuesday's doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m., while Wednesday's single game is set for 3 p.m.
