Quinnipiac, Manhattan Set for Wednesday Battle in Bronxville

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team hits the road on Wednesday afternoon, trekking to Riverdale to take on league foe Manhattan at Gaelic Park.

EllaGrace Delmond had a career day for the Bobcats, scoring seven goals and dishing two more assists but the comeback bid fell short for the hosts as they were knocked off 16-15 by Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon in Hamden.
Delmond's goal total was the most by a Quinnipiac player since 2013, but was not enough as Quinnipiac ran three straight goals but turned the ball over with 35 seconds left in a bid to tie the game.

Those numbers are good for sixth and 12th in the country, respectively. Melissa Murphy averages 1.78 caused turnovers per game, which is good for fifth in the MAAC and 29th in the country.

The Bobcats won a nailbiter last season, going on an eight-goal run to turn a 13-7 deficit into a 15-13 lead, holding on for a 15-14 victory at the QU Lacrosse Field on April 8, 2023. Mia Delmond had a five-point day, while Abby Wise chipped in two goals and an assist and Amy Nicoloff scored a goal of her own.
Overall, Quinnipiac has won 10 of the 12 matchups but hasn't won in Riverdale since 2017.
