Comeback Bid Falls Just Short for Bobcats in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac Men's Lacrosse dropped a tight MAAC matchup on Wednesday afternoon in Hamden, falling 13-12 vs. Sacred Heart.
The comeback attempt fell just short for the Bobcats. John DeLucia scored with 3:32 to cut the deficit to just two goals, then Justin Robbert found the back of the cage with 39 seconds left to make it 13-12.
Sacred Heart held on in the end, moving to 7-0 in MAAC play during the 2024 season.
Mason Oak was impressive in front of the cage for QU, making 22 total saves and allowing just 13 goals.
John DeLucia finished with four goals for the Bobcats, and Trevor Douglas posted a hat trick with three scores of his own.

- The Pioneers outshot Quinnipiac 68-36 in total.
- Mason Oak made 22 saves for the Bobcats, the third-highest total of any player in the country during a single game this season. Wyatt Knust of Cornell and Colin Kelley of Mercer each made 24 stops in a game. Oak recorded 10 saves in the opening 15 minutes of play for the Bobcats.
- John DeLucia scored four goals for the second time this season. He also scored four times vs. Merrimack on March 2.
- Trevor Douglas scored three times to raise his season goal total to 15. He's scored three goals in back-to-back games.
- Ryan Donnery added two goals and one helper. He leads the team with 49 points.
- Steven Germain added one goal and two helpers for three points.
- Dylan Donnery added one goal and one assist for QU. He also caused a pair of turnovers.

- QU went 21-of-23 on clear attempts.

- The Bobcats will now turn their attention to Saturday's home contest vs. VMI.
