
Bobcats Fall To URI In Offensive Showdown

The Bobcats will fall to 9-20 on the season, while the Rams will improve to 8-18 overall on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first inning, the Bobcats got the first run of the ballgame as Gabe Wright scored on a Kyle Garbowski groundout. Rhode Island came right back with three runs as Depino hit a three-run home run to left field, giving the Rams a 3-1 lead.
Another home run from the Rams made it a 4-1 game in the bottom of the fourth before the Bobcats exploded for six runs in the fifth. Jared Zimbardo got the scoring started in the inning as he blasted a two-run home run to left field. Later in the inning, Matt DeRosa drew a bases loaded walk to bring home Christian Smith. Kyle Garbowski stepped up as the next batter and on an 0-2 count, Garbowski got hit by a pitch to bring home another run. Dominick Proctor capped off the fifth inning as he hit a two-run single to left field to give the Bobcats a 7-4 lead.
Rhode Island answered back in the bottom half of the inning with five runs to retake the lead. Rhode Island got a two-run single to get the scoring started in the inning. Two more runs came in on an error in the outfield before they got their fifth run of the inning from a sacrifice fly to make it 9-7.
Quinnipiac responded in the top half of the sixth inning as they brought home four runs. Christian Smith hit a sacrifice fly to score Zimbardo to bring the Bobcats within one. A CJ Willis RBI single tied the game at nine in the sixth. Later in the inning, Kyle Garbowski singled up the middle to bring home the go-ahead run and Julian Buchman drew a bases loaded walk to bring home Wright.
URI got two runs in the sixth to even the game at 11 a piece. An RBI double brought home their tenth run of the game before their 11th run came in on an RBI single.
The Rams took the lead in the seventh inning as Depino singled to bring home a run. The next batter hit a double to left center to bring home two more runs and make it a 14-11 game.
In the top of the eighth, the Bobcats crept closer as Keegan O'Connor singled to left field to bring home two runs and make it a 14-13 game.
