For the middle game of the series, the two teams will face off at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ before returning to Hamden for the series finale of Sunday, April 14 with first pitch scheduled at 1 PM.

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac baseball team welcomes the NJIT Highlanders for the first game of a three-game series on Friday, April 12. For the middle game of the series, the two teams will face off at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ before returning to Hamden for the series finale of Sunday, April 14 with first pitch scheduled at 1 PM.
HISTORY VS. NJIT
- Friday's contest will mark the fifth time these two programs will be facing off.
- The all-time series is tied at two games apiece.
- The last time the two teams faced off, the Bobcats defended their home field and took down the Highlanders by a score of 11-6 (May 16, 2015).
- The Highlanders enter Friday's contest with an 11-17 overall record with a 4-4 record in America East action.
- NJIT is coming off a series split with America East foe Maine.
- The Highlanders dropped game one of the series by a final score of 8-0 (7 innings). NJIT bounced back in game two as they won 6-5. Cole Campbell led the offense with three RBIs and Albert Choi blasted a two-run homer.
- Kevin Putsky leads the NJIT offense with a .300 batting average in 28 games played. Putsky has recorded four homers and has driven in 17 runs, while being 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts. Cade Ladehoff leads the team with seven home runs and 29 runs batted in.
- Aidan Kidd has made eight starts for the Highlanders and boasts a 4.26 ERA. Kidd has recorded 57 strikeouts in 38.0 innings pitched, which are both the team lead.
- Quinnipiac dropped the midweek matchup to the URI Rams, 14-13, on the road in Rhode Island on Wednesday, April 10.
- Kyle Garbowski led the offense with three RBIs in the loss, while Jared Zimbardo, Keegan O'Connor, and Dominick Proctor each drove in two runs.
- Gabe Wright went 2-for-3 from the plate and scored three runs.
- Junior Keegan O'Connor enters his senior season.
- O'Connor was named to the All-MAAC First Team and NEIBA All-New England First Team
- O'Connor played and started in 55 games a season ago and batted .342.
- He blasted 13 home runs and drove in 60 runs and scored 51 runs.
- O'Connor drove in a game-high 7 runs in a win over Saint Peter's (5/11).
- Sebastian Mueller was named to the 2023 MAAC All-Academic Team
- Mueller played in 56 games and made 55 starts as a junior
- In 225 at-bats just a season ago, Mueller had a batting average of .311.
- He hit 18 homers, to lead the team, and drove in 54 runs.
- Mueller went 4-for-7 and drove in a season high 8 runs in a win over Saint Peter's (5/11)
- The Bobcats return 23 players from last season's team.
- Sophomore Matt Alduino will be a key returner as he earned 2023 All-Rookie honors for his incredible campaign. Alduino led the team with a 4.50 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.
- Starting Pitchers, Mason Ulsh and Jimmy Hagan will also play a key role this season. Hagan will return to the mound after being shut down last season. Ulsh will look to play off his solid sophomore season.
- Other key returners include Braydon Seaburg, John Heitzman, Sean Swenson, Aaron Zenus, Matt DeRosa, Sam Favieri, Frank Craska, and Andrew Rubayo.
LOTS OF NEW FACES
- Quinnipiac welcomes 13 new faces to their campus this season.
- The Bobcats used the transfer portal to fill any openings and grabbed Dominick Proctor (Bryant and Stratton), CJ Willis (Western New England), Skyler Manelski (Linfield University), Jack Kabel (Nichols College), Gabe Wright (Indian River State College), Brett Leighton (Gettysburg), and Jack Gannon (Saint Peter's).
- Quinnipiac also brought in six first years, Spencer Chard (Newtown, Conn.), Kyle Garbowski (New Fairfield, Conn.), Raymond McNaught (East Bridgewater, Mass.), Andrew Hearn (Westfield, Mass.), James Fahan (Stamford, Conn.), and Sam Ametrano (Guilford, Conn.).
- The Bobcats will return home on Friday, April 12th as they welcome the NJIT Highlanders to Hamden for only the fifth meeting. The Bobcats and Highlanders will head to New Jersey for game two (Saturday, April 13th) before returning to Connecticut on Sunday (4/14) for the series finale.
