Delmond's Career Day Not Enough as Women's Lacrosse Falls to Mount
3/30/2024 5:08:00 PM | Women's Lacrosse
HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team received a seven-goal, nine-point day from junior midfielder EllaGrace Delmond but the Bobcats ran out of time in their late push as Mount St. Mary's won 16-15 at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The junior set a new collegiate-best in both of those departments, helping lead the Bobcat attack to a season-best 15 goals but a turnover with just over 30 seconds left prevented the home team from extending the run to four and tying the game.
Delmond also recorded a collegiate-best eight draw controls, as Quinnipiac controlled that department 18-16. Melissa Murphy had six controls at the draw, while Julia Steneck added a pair of ground balls and three caused turnovers.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac heads back on the road on Wednesday, trekking to Manhattan for a 4 p.m. first draw in Bronxville.
