Bobcats Sit In Second After Day One Of Atlantic Invitational

LAKE WORTH, Fla. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program wrapped up day one of the Atlantic Invitational after two rounds (36 holes) were played at the Fountains Country Club on Monday, Feb. 12. The Bobcats sit in second place, behind Arkansas State by 26 strokes.

Leeyen Peralta and Meg Yoshida lead the Quinnipiac group as they are both tied for 7^th place (+5). Peralta skyrocketed up the leaderboard, jumping 13 spots after she shot a 70 (-1) in the final 18 holes. Yoshida shot a 72 (+1) and 75 (+4) to finish at +5 (147).

Aimee Uchida sits in 16^th place after she shot a 153 (+11) two-round total. Fuge Zhang sits in a four-way tie for 20^th place. Zhang shot a 77 (+6) in round one and 78 (+7) in round two, for a two-round total of 155 (+13).

Samantha Galantini rounded out the Quinnipiac group as she sits in a tie for 28^th place. Galantini finished her day with a score of +17 (159). She shot a +12 (83) in the first 18 holes, but finished round two, shooting a 76 (+5).

The Bobcats will be back in action on, Tuesday, February 13th as they wrap up play at the Atlantic Invitational in Lake Worth, Florida with the final 18 holes being played at the Fountains Country Club.

SCORES AND NOTES

The Bobcats sit 26 strokes behind the leader, Arkansas State (574, +6).
Meg Yoshida led Quinnipiac with 26 pars on 36 holes.
Peralta birdied on six holes, which is good for the fourth most in the field.
All five Bobcats sit within the top 30 places out of 40 golfers in the tournament field.
