Golf Set For Competition At Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational

OLDSMAR, Fla. – The Quinnipiac women's golf program is back in action as they head down to Oldsmar, Florida to compete at the Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational hosted by Butler University. The two-day tournament will be played at the East Lake Woodlands South Course.

Butler, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Farleigh Dickinson, Indiana State, IUPUI, Long Island, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, St. John's, UIC, Valparaiso, Western Illinois, and Western Michigan.

- The Bobcats will head down to Oldsmar, Florida to compete at the Butler Don Benbow Spring Invitational.
- The Bobcats will play 18 holes on day one of the tournament before wrapping up day two with 18 holes.
- The Bobcats finished their first tournament of the spring season with a second-place finish at the Atlantic Invitational.
- Leeyen Peralta was the highest finisher for the Bobcats as she finished in a tie for 7th place (+9). Peralta shot a 75 (+4) in the final 18 holes, to give her a two-day total of 222 (+9).
- Aimee Uchida came in a two-way tie for 13th place as she moved up three spots on day two. Uchida shot a 73 (+2) on the final day, tied for the best score in Quinnipiac's group. Uchida finished with a total of 226 (+13) in the Invitational.
- Leeyen Peralta returns for her fifth year in the fall of 2023.
- She competed in 11 events and averaged 74.52 strokes per round.
- Her average 74.52 strokes per round is an all-time program best.
- Peralta earned six top-10 finishes and five top-five finishes on the campaign.
- She recorded a team-best 68 birdies on the season, while also setting the program record
- Her 11 rounds for par or better tied the program record.
- Peralta earned All-MAAC honors for the third straight season.
- She shot a career three-round best at the MAAC Championships, shooting a 216 (E).
- Fuge Zhang returns for her junior season in 2023.
- She appeared in 12 events last season, averaging 77.19 strokes per round.
- Zhang was named MAAC Golfer of the Year after she came in first place at the MAAC Championships.
- She shot a career three-round best 214 (-2) at the MAAC Championship in 2022
- Her 214 (-2) at the MAAC Championship stands as the best three-round all-time score at the tournament.
- Zhang notched four top-ten finishes and came in the top-five three times.
- Zhang earned All-MAAC honors for the second straight season.
