HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's soccer team is preparing for its second road MAAC contest this weekend. They will be heading down to New Jersey to face Rider at 4:00 PM Saturday afternoon, the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
THE MATCHUP: vs. Rider
- Rider is 7-4 with wins over Stony Brook, Saint Joseph's, GWU, NJIT, La Salle, Mercyhurst, and Merrimack.
- Chad Duernberger is the head coach of Rider, in his second season.
- Momo Diop leads the Broncs with six goals on the season.
- The Bobcats are 5-7-1 against Rider since 2013.
- Three Bobcats scored in their conference opening match up with the Pioneers.
- William Holum, Sivert Ryssdalsnes, and Luke Schierenbeck each scored in the second half to lift the Bobcats.
- Drew Seguro also dished two assists.
- The Bobcats scored a record nine goals on their way to a shutout victory on Tuesday afternoon in Hamden.
- Fredrik Moen scored twice, 44 seconds apart to open the game.

- Head Coach Eric Da Costa enters his 20th season with the Bobcats in 2023. Da Costa is 152-137-61 during his time at QU.
- Da Costa has built a strong reputation for success at QU, leading the Bobcats to the postseason conference tournament in 10 of the last 12 seasons (2012 in the NEC, 2013-2022).
- The Bobcats have reached the MAAC title game five times under Da Costa, reaching the NCAA Tournament twice. He was also named the 2022 MAAC Coach of the Year for his outstanding leadership.
- Quinnipiac's fall 2024 schedule features 16 regular season contests, with eight non-league games.
- The Bobcats are set to host 10 games in Hamden this season, including a stretch of six in a row starting with the home opener against Columbia (Aug. 30) and ending against FDU (Sep. 26).
