NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Every Quinnipiac batter recorded a hit, as the Quinnipiac baseball team dominated game two of a three-game set at Niagara, 16-10, Friday afternoon at Bobo Field.

With the win, the Bobcats improved to 11-16 overall on the season and 5-3 in the MAAC, while the Purple Eagles fell to 13-11 on the 2023 campaign and 4-4 in the MAAC with the loss

Sean Swenson paced the offense with a homer and four RBIs, while Sebastian Mueller homered three times and added four RBIs in the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Purple Eagles struck first, tallying two runs in the second to get out to an early 2-0 lead. The Bobcats responded with two runs of their own in the fourth, with Keegan O'Connor sparking the rally. With runners on first and second, O'Connor delivered on an RBI single, allowing a second run to score on a throwing error to knot the contest at 2-2. However, Niagara scored a run in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-2 lead.

Quinnipiac tied the game in the top of the fifth after Sebastian Mueller hit a solo homer to left field to tie the game at 3-3. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded Sean Swenson launched a grand slam to left, giving Quinnipiac a 7-3 advantage.

Leading 10-3 in the eighth, Mueller hit his second homer of the day to extend the QU lead to 11-3. The deficit proved to be too much for Niagara, as Quinnipiac held on for the 16-7 victory.
