Bobcats to Host Iona Wednesday as Playoff Push Continues

HAMDEN, Conn. — The final home regular season game awaits on Wednesday afternoon, as two games are left on the overall slate with all to play for for the Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team.
Currently standing in a hosting position for the first round of the MAAC postseason, the Bobcats host Iona as all nine league teams are still in the running for a playoff spot.

LAST TIME OUT (4/15/23)
- The Bobcats roared back from a three-goal, fourth-quarter deficit on Senior Day Saturday, knocking off Canisius 9-8 in overtime at the QU Lacrosse Stadium.
- Desiree Kleberg scored three of her of her four goals in the final 5:59 of regulation and the overtime winner, while EllaGrace Delmond's second goal of the afternoon tied the game with 56 seconds remaining.
- Lauren Hayes recorded three ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Melissa Murphy added a trio of ground balls as well.
- Iona earned its second league win on Wednesday, knocking off Manhattan by a 12-11 scoreline on Wednesday afternoon in New Rochelle, N.Y.
- The Gaels scored four of the last five goals of the game, erasing a 10-8 deficit with 9:30 remaining. Laine Walterson added a four-goal day, while Alexa Skoubas tallied four points with two goals and two assists.
- With two games left in the MAAC regular season, everything is there to play for in the playoff picture. Siena stands atop the league standings at 6-1, with Fairfield a half-game back at 5-1. Both Niagara and Quinnipiac currently stand in a quarterfinal host spot at 3-3 in league play, a half-game up on Mount St. Mary's.
- The third and fourth seeds will host the MAAC Quarterfinals on Sunday, April 30 with the top two teams earning a bye. The regular season champion will host Championship Weekend, May 5 and 7.
