ELON, N.C. – McGwire Tuffy led the offense with a homer and two RBIs as the Bobcats came up short on the road at Elon, 14-3, in game two of the series on Saturday afternoon at Latham Park.

With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 4-5 to open the season, while the Phoenix improved to 6-5 on the 2023 campaign with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix got off to a hot start, plating 10 runs in the first five innings of play to jump out to a 10-0 lead. The Bobcats responded in the sixth with a two-spot in the inning after Tuffy blasted a two-run shot to left to put Quinnipiac on the board.

The comeback attempt fell short, however, as Elon hung on for the eventual 14-3 final.
