ELON, N.C. – The Quinnipiac baseball team looks to stay hot on the road as the Bobcats carry a four-game win streak to Elon for a three-game weekend set with the Phoenix. Game one is set for Friday, Feb. 24 at 4 p.m.

Quinnipiac swept the Friday doubleheader, 5-1 and 8-6

The Phoenix have dropped each of their last two contests

Junior Sebastian Mueller is off to a hot start in 2023
Mueller leads the Bobcats in batting average (.429), hits (9), OPS (1.014) and on-base percentage (.538)
Mueller led the Bobcats' offense at the Snowbird Classic, batting .500 (4-for-8) with four singles over the weekend
Last season he logged three homers and 15 RBIs

Kyle Maves returns as a grad student for his fifth season

Led the team with three triples in 2022
Maves has recorded 52 career steals, slotting him third in the program's Div. I record book for thefts

Trust in Jared

Jared Zimbardo returns to Hamden for his junior campaign
Zimbardo is batting .259 with seven hits, including three doubles and a homer
Zimbardo batted a career-best .307 and boasted 50 hits and an on-base percentage of .380 last season
He recorded career highs in runs scored (28), doubles (11), triples (2), home runs (6), RBIs (24), and stolen bases (7)
His 50 hits were tied for third on the team last season

Saint Anthony Donofrio

Anthony Donofrio was the lone Quinnipiac player to earn All-MAAC Preseason honors heading into 2023
Donofrio is batting .296 on the season, with eight hits, including two doubles and two homers
Donofrio leads the team with eight RBI on the season
In a 4-0 weekend for the Bobcats at UMES, Donofrio batted .412 with seven hits, including two doubles, two homers, and six RBIs
Donofrio boasted a slugging percentage of .882% and recorded five runs scored in the series sweep over UMES
He tallied at least a hit in each contest, including two in all but one contest.
Last season, Donofrio earned All-MAAC Second Team honors as an outfielder
Donofrio batted .343 in 2022, boasting a team-best 61 hits while adding 11 doubles, seven homers, two triples, and 25 RBIs
Donofrio was a menace on the basepaths, swiping 15 bags last season
Donofrio averaged nine strikeouts per nine innings pitched, in just over 4.0 innings of work.

He will participate in many activities with the baseball team over the next two years, including games, practices, and other team events
