Bobcats Round Out Non-Conference Play at Central Connecticut

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team rounds out its 2023 non-conference slate on Wednesday afternoon, taking on Central Connecticut State on Wednesday afternoon in New Britain.
It is the final game of a three-game road slate before the Bobcats return home on Saturday afternoon to host Marist.

Emily Feeney recorded a hat trick in a four-point outing, while Desiree Kleberg and Sophia Iaccino added three points each, but the Bobcats fell to Villanova 16-12 on Saturday morning in Philadelphia.
The Bobcats were within a goal of its Big East opposition midway through the third quarter, but the Wildcats scored the next to take control. Quinnipiac's defense forced 18 Wildcat turnovers, but was unable to overcome 20 of their own.

Olivia Gianakos has nine goals and 10 total points on the year, while Talie Richardson and Lauren Valluzzi are tied for second on the team with four each. Kya Risher has started all four games in the cage, recording a 14.07 goals-against average and .434 save percentage.

This will be the 17th matchup between the squads dating back to 2001. The teams last meet in 2017, when the Bobcats knocked off Central 10-9 on Feb. 18, 2017 in New Haven. The Bobcats have won five of seven road contests in the series.
