Women's Lacrosse Set for Saturday Morning Matchup at Villanova

HAMDEN, Conn. — After picking up a win nine days ago, the Quinnipiac University women's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday morning against Big East foe Villanova at 10 a.m. in Philadelphia.

Quinnipiac raced out to an 11-0 lead en route to a 15-8 victory at Holy Cross on March 8 in Worcester, Mass. Sophia Iaccino led the team offensively with five points, while Desiree Kleberg added a four-spot of goals that included a first-quarter hat trick. Kat Henselder also made 12 saves in the victory.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Villanova enters the weekend 6-2 after a 15-1 victory at home over Lafayette on Wednesday. Sydney Pappas leads the way in the goalscoring department with 24 on the campaign, totaling 28 points. Sami Carey and Caroline Curnal are at 23 and 22, respectively, for a Wildcats team that is 4-1 at home to start the year.
Cate Gallagher and Olivia Conquest have split starting duties, with each beginning four games in the cage. Gallagher made the start on Wednesday, making two saves in a scoreless first half of action.

Senior netminder Kat Henselder is again one of the best goalies in the MAAC as the calendar starts to lean towards conference play.
