Mobley Scores OT Winner, Bobcats Defeat Maine in Season Opener

ORONO, Maine—Junior forward Olivia Mobley scored the game-winner with just 10.1 seconds left in overtime, as No. 8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey downed Maine, 3-2, in the Bobcats' 2022-23 season opener.
Graduate forward Lexie Adzija notched a goal and an assist and junior forward Sadie Peart recorded her first goal of the season.

- (10:34, 1st period, EV)—Quinnipiac 1, Maine 0: Junior assistant captain Sadie Peart scored the Bobcats' first goal of the 2022-23 season. Olivia Mobley passed the puck to Nina Steigauf in the slot, who found Peart in front and went top shelf over Maine's Jordan Mattison to give QU the lead, 1-0.
- (00:35, 2nd period, EV)—Quinnipiac 1, Maine 1: The Black Bears came out in the second period hungry, as Ida Kuoppala tied the game 1-1 early with help from Rahel Enzler and Grace Heiting.
- (16:09, 2nd period, PP)—Quinnipiac 1, Maine 2: The Black Bears took the lead late in the second period when Mira Seregely found the back of the net off a pass from Ida Kuoppala on a 5-on-3 after Peart and Chantler sat for two in the box.
- (9:37, 3rd period, PP)—Graduate captain Lexie Adzija evened the score at two as she buried the rebound in the slot off a shot from Mobley.
- (4:50, OT, EV)—Mobley sealed the Bobcats' victory with just 10.1 seconds left in overtime off a faceoff win by Adzija, beating Mattison over the blocker side.
NOTES:
- Mobley and Adzija both recorded multi-point nights, Mobley tallied three points (a goal, two assists) and Adzija notched a goal and an assist.
- Peart, Steiguaf and first-year Jess Schryver each recorded an assist in the 3-2 season-opening win.
- Maine went 1-4 on the powerplay with six shots on goal, while Quinnipiac went 1-1 with two shots on goal.
- The Bobcats outshot the Black Bears 36-20.
- Graduate netminder Logan Angers made 18 saves on the night.
