NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Senior pitcher Derek Goldrick allowed no earned runs in 5.1 innings of work to lead the Quinnipiac baseball team, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats were unable to hold off a late Niagara rally, falling 6-5 Friday afternoon on Bobo Field.

With the loss the Bobcats fell to 15-32 on the season and 8-14 in the MAAC, while the Purple Eagles improved to 18-30 on the campaign and 12-11 in the MAAC with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats struck first for three runs in the third inning to jump out to an early 3-0 advantage. With runners on the corners, Anthony Donofrio reached on an infield RBI single to give QU a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning with runners on second and third, Ostberg lined a two-run single to center to extend the Bobcats' lead to 3-0.

Quinnipiac added to its lead in the following inning when Sebastian Mueller drilled a no-doubt two-run homer to left, pushing Quinnipiac's lead to 5-0. The Purple Eagles responded with a run on a Bobcat error in the sixth to trim their deficit to 5-1.

The Purple Eagles rallied to score five runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk-off with a 6-5 victory.

Mueller added a double as well in the loss
