HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Michael Kohn went 3-for-4 with a homer and a career-high five RBIs to lead the Quinnipiac baseball team past MAAC foe Manhattan at home, 11-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field.

With the win the Bobcats improved to 13-24 on the season and 6-8 in the MAAC, while the Jaspers fell to 17-22 on the campaign and 7-10 in conference play with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats struck first for four runs in the opening frame. Danny Melnick got the scoring started with an RBI double with runners on first and second to give QU a 1-0 lead. Ian Ostberg immediately followed with a sacrifice fly to left to plate Kyle Maves to extend the lead to 2-0. Keegan O'Connor followed with an RBI single to right before Michael Kohn's RBI double off the right field fence to push Quinnipiac ahead 4-0.

The Bobcats added to the lead in the bottom of the third. With Anthony Donofrio leading off second, Kohn lined a single to the outfield to plate his teammate, pushing QU's lead to 5-0. Later in the inning, Kohn came around to score on an RBI groundout from Jared Zimbardo to extend the lead to 6-0 in the third.

Kohn's career-high day continued in the fourth inning, as he powered a three-run homer over the right field fence for his team-leading seventh homer of the season, pushing Quinnipiac's lead to 9-0. The deficit proved to be too much for the Jaspers as Quinnipiac cruised to the eventual 11-1 victory.
