
Balanc, Marfo Earn All-MAAC Third Team Status

EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac men's basketball graduate student Kevin Marfo and redshirt junior Matt Balanc have both been named to the All-MAAC Third Team, as announced by the league office on Monday, March 7, 2022.
Kevin Marfo finished the regular season ranked No. 13 nationally in rebounds (10.2 RPG), while also averaging 9.7 points and 4.0 assists per game. Matt Balanc finished sixth in the MAAC in scoring (14.5 PPG), recording 12 games of 15+ points for the Bobcats.
Kevin Marfo: All-MAAC Third Team
Marfo averaged 9.7 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 4.0 APG in 2021-22 for Quinnipiac. He recorded 11 total double-doubles, the most of any MAAC player. Seven of Marfo's double-doubles came in league action.
The graduate big man from Bergenfield, New Jersey finished first in the league in rebounds and third in assists. He had 15 games with double-digit rebound totals. Marfo started in all 28 games for QU, shooting 46.1% from the floor.

Matt Balanc: All-MAAC Third Team
The redshirt junior led QU in scoring (14.5 PPG), finishing sixth in the league. Balanc tallied double-digit point totals in 20 separate games.
He played in 27 of Quinnipiac's 28 total games, averaging 30.0 minutes per contest. The Silver Spring, Maryland-native went 42.7% from the field, and 34.2% from 3-point distance. Balanc scored 25 points in the season opener at Maryland (11/9). He recorded a career-high 31 points at Manhattan (12/5). Balanc also made two appearances on SportsCenter Top 10.

Quinnipiac has now earned 12 All-MAAC honors over five seasons under Head Coach Baker Dunleavy.
