VESTAL, N.Y. – Quinnipiac women's lacrosse was defeated by the Binghamton Bearcats, 16-11, on Saturday afternoon. Junior Desiree Kleberg recorded three goals on nine shots and picked up one ground ball. Junior goalkeeper Kat Henselder made eight saves for the Bobcats in the loss.

Junior Emily Feeney recorded three goals on the afternoon to push her season total to seven. In total, six Bobcats found the back of the net.

GAME SUMMARY

Emily Feeney opened up the scoring early recording a goal 56 seconds into the game to give the Bobcats an early 1-0 lead.
With 12:26 on the clock in the first quarter, Feeney tallied her second goal of the game off a nice pass from Sophia Iaccino.
After recording an assist, Sophia Iaccino scored a goal of her own and the Bobcats were holding an early 3-0 lead.
42 seconds after Iaccino's tally, Marisa Tancredi of Binghamton brought the Bearcats back into the game, but Quinnipiac still led 3-1.
Olivia Mucsolino of Binghamton brought the Bearcats within one when she ripped a shot into the back of the net.
Sophie Spencer gave Quinnipiac another two goal cushion with 8:25 left in the first quarter. The Bobcats were holding a 4-2 lead.
Binghamton scored two goals, Kenna Newman and Abby Carroll, within 2:04 to tie the game at four apiece.
Desiree Kleberg took back the momentum for the Bobcats and gave them a one goal lead with 4:18 to go in the first frame.
Jesse Barer tied the game up with 1:00 left on the clock and this game was deadlocked at five heading into the second quarter.
The Bobcats started the second quarter scoring two goals within the first six minutes. Desiree Kleberg and Maddie Deegan teamed up to give the Bobcats the 7-5 advantage.
With just 21 seconds left in the half, Marisa Tancredi ripped one into the back of the net and the Bearcats trailed the Bobcats, 7-6, heading into the second half.
Binghamton came out firing in the second half scoring two goals in the first seven minutes to take an 8-7 lead.
Sophia Iaccino tied the game up at eight with her second goal of the game.
Binghamton responded with four goals of their own in the final 3:23 of the third quarter. The Bearcats had the 12-8 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.
Just 57 seconds into the fourth quarter, Jesse Barer scored on the advantage to extend the lead to five.
The Bobcats were not going to go down without a fight. Gabby Beckett and Desiree Kleberg scored 25 seconds apart to bring Quinnipiac within 3. The Bearcats were still leading 13-10.
Binghamton tallied the next two goals to extend the lead back up to five. Kenna Newman and Emily Masera fired one each into the back of the net to bring the game to 15-10, Binghamton.
On the advantage, Emily Feeney tallied her third goal of the game to bring the Bobcats within four with 2:35 to play.
With 17 seconds left in the game, Emily Masera scored on the advantage to give the Bobcats the 16-11 lead.
The Bearcats finished off the game and took the 16-11 victory over the Bobcats.

NOTES

The Bobcats were outshot by the Bearcats 36-31.
Both teams were very efficient clearing their defensive zones as Quinnipiac went 16-17 on clears and Binghamton went a perfect 16-16.
The Bobcats caused 11 Bearcat turnovers.
The Bobcats controlled 9 draws compared to the Bearcats' 21.
