#7 Bobcats Lose Heartbreaker to #1 Ohio State in NCAA Regional Final, Schroeder Makes 73 Saves

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 7/7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team lost to the No. 1/1 Ohio State Buckeyes in the NCAA Regional Final in a double overtime heartbreaker on Saturday night. The Buckeyes won, 4-3, and will advance to the 2022 Frozen Four. Graduate student Corinne Schroeder had a phenomenal game, recording a career-high 73 saves in the loss. Her 73 saves are ranked in the top-ten all-time NCAA records for saves in a single game and breaks the school record.
First-years Maya Labad and Ann-Frédérik Naud and graduate student Taylor House all scored in the loss. Naud scored the game's first goal in the first period. The Buckeyes scored two-straight goals to take a 2-1 lead, but Labad came back and tied the game 2-2. Ohio State took a 3-2 lead early in the third period, and House tied the game with under two minutes remaining to force overtime. The teams would play an entire full overtime period without scoring a goal. In the fourth overtime period, Ohio State's Clair DeGeorge scored to secure the win.
