Non-League Schedule Features 5 Home Games
HAMDEN, Conn. – An opening night trip to Maryland highlights the Quinnipiac men's basketball team's 2021-22 non-conference schedule, which was released by Head Coach Baker Dunleavy and the program on Monday, Aug. 23.
The Bobcats' non-conference slate features nine total games, including five home contests at the People's United Center in Hamden.

The new season will begin at the XFINITY Center against the Terrapins – who are projected to be in the preseason Top-25 rankings by virtually every national outlet. The matchup between Quinnipiac and Maryland is the first-ever between the two programs.
QU is 6-1 all-time vs. Western New England, though the two programs have not met in Quinnipiac's Division I era. The Bobcats' last meeting against Holy Cross came on Dec. 11, 2016. The Nov. 15 matchup will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two teams. Quinnipiac last played Central Connecticut State on Feb. 25, 2013 when both teams were members of the NEC. CCSU won that matchup (67-65) in New Britain, Connecticut.
The Bobcats travel to America East foe New Hampshire (Nov. 23), squaring off with the Wildcats for the fourth-straight season. QU has won the previous three matchups, including a 64-58 victory over UNH last year at the People's United Center in Hamden.
QU then returns home to host Brown at the People's United Center in Hamden (Nov. 28). Brown won the most recent meeting (70-68) between the two teams on Nov. 13, 2019. The Bobcats then head to Dartmouth (Dec. 8). Quinnipiac has won each of the last six games against the Big Green.
Quinnipiac's final home non-conference game is against Maine (Dec. 11). The Bobcats have won three of the last four, including an 81-61 victory on Dec. 15, 2019 in Bangor, Maine.
The non-league slate wraps up three days before Christmas at Penn State (Dec. 22) for the first-ever matchup between the Bobcats and Nittany Lions.

Dunleavy recently completed his fourth season as Head Coach at Quinnipiac. He helped guide the Bobcats to nine wins this past season, including an 8-5 record at the People's United Center in Hamden.
Quinnipiac won four of its last seven regular season MAAC games. The Bobcats ranked No. 8 nationally in defensive field goal percentage last season, as opponents shot just 39.0% from the field against QU. Quinnipiac also grabbed 28.32 defensive rebounds per game in 2020-21, which ranked best in the MAAC and No. 17 nationally.
The Bobcats return all three of the team's All-MAAC selections following the completion of the 2020-21 season. Jacob Rigoni (11.8 PPG, 6.3 RPG) was named to the All-MAAC Second Team while Luis Kortright (10.3 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 2.7 APG) and Tymu Chenery (9.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG) both garnered All-Rookie honors.
Rigoni announced his return to Quinnipiac for a fifth year on July 19. He is the second Bobcat to announce his return so far this summer. Quinnipiac revealed the return of forward Kevin Marfo on April 26. Marfo led the nation in rebounding (13.3 RPG) in 2019-20 for the Bobcats, then spent the 2020-21 season at Texas A&M.
The program also returns eight of their top nine players in total minutes played.
Quinnipiac Athletics announced the return of fans at full capacity back on July 12. Season ticket holders will be able to renew their packages online and through the Quinnipiac ticket office beginning July 12 through August 13. Individual game tickets will become available to the general public on September 13, 2021.

Quinnipiac returns to Hamden for three consecutive home matchups: vs. Western New England (Nov. 12), vs. Holy Cross (Nov. 15) and vs. CCSU (Nov. 20)."Our team is excited to announce our non-conference schedule for the 2021-22 season. We have the opportunity to compete against talented, well-coached programs during the months of November and December. These challenges will help us best prepare for MAAC play.
Opening the new year at Maryland offers our group an immediate chance to grow on a national stage. We're also thrilled to welcome our supporters back to the People's United Center. Our students and fans help create a great environment at our home games, and we're looking forward to playing four non-conference contests in front of crowds again this winter." - Baker Dunleavy, Head Coach
