HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team is set for postseason play as it travels to Albany to take on the MAAC Championships. The Bobcats open up in the MAAC Quarterfinals with a matchup with No. 2 Canisius on Thursday morning. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
Quinnipiac split a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon with previously undefeated Fairfield. The Bobcats dropped the first match of Sunday's doubleheader to Fairfield, 3-2. The Bobcats took sets one and three, while the Stags took sets two, four and five. Morgan Sherwin led the way for the Bobcats as she posted her second double-double of the season with 20 kills and 18 digs, both of which are season highs for the senior outside hitter. She also posted a season-high five blocks for Quinnipiac. Two other Bobcats recorded double-doubles as well as Aryanah Diaz recorded 17 kills and 17 digs. Nicole Migliozzi dished out 46 assists and had 11 digs in the defeat. The Bobcats tied their season high in aces with 10 and were only one behind their season high in blocks with eight. In the second five set match between the two teams, the Bobcats came out victorious, 3-2 for their second ever victory against Fairfield. Quinnipiac also handed the Stags their first loss of the season. Maggie Baker led the Bobcats attack with her fourth double-double of the season, tallying 16 kills and 15 digs. She also had two assists and two aces in the victory. Chloe Ka'ahanui dished out a career-high 44 assists in the five set victory. She recorded her fourth double-double of the season, pairing her assists total with 13 digs. Georgia Tselepi was a force on the offensive end of the ball as well, tallying 13 kills and a team leading three aces. She also had a block for the Bobcats.
THIS SEASON VS. THE GRIFFS
Quinnipiac and Canisius met for a doubleheader earlier this season in Hamden. The two teams split the doubleheader as Quinnipiac took the first match in five sets, and Canisius took the second match in three sets.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFS
The Griffs possess a 7-3 record heading into the MAAC Tournament. In their last doubleheader of the season, they split with Niagara. Two Griffs have eclipsed the 100-kill mark this season as Ella Loussia has 114 and Hannah Nelson has 112. Ashley Kekeisen and Callie Chamulak have been effective distributing the ball for Canisius as Kekeisen has 204 assists and Chamulak has 141. Bree Long anchors the Canisius defense with 190 digs.
ALL-TIME VS. CANISIUS
The Bobcats are 6-15 all-time against the Griffs. The last matchup came in this season's doubleheader where Quinnipiac split with Canisius.
REMATCH IN THE TOURNEY
The two teams matched up against each other in the 2019 MAAC Tournament in the semifinals. The sixth seeded Bobcats upset No. 2 Canisius in five sets to advance to the MAAC Finals.
MAAC WEEKLY AWARDS
Two Bobcat players received conference weekly awards on Tuesday, March 16 for their performances in the first two doubleheaders of the season. Junior outside hitter Maggie Baker was named MAAC Player of the Week as she tallied 81 kills and 42 digs over the first four matches of the season. She averaged 5.4 kills and 2.8 digs per set for Quinnipiac. First-year setter Chloe Ka'ahanui was named MAAC Rookie of the Week as she recorded 87 assists and 31 digs, averaging 10.88 assists and 3.88 digs per set in her first collegiate action.
ALOHA, ASSISTS
First-year setter Chloe Ka'ahanui recorded 58 assists in the season-opening doubleheader vs. Manhattan. The Honolulu, Hawai'i native coupled those assists with 22 digs to record a double-double in her first two collegiate matches.
MAGGIE'S MAGIC
Junior Outside Hitter Maggie Baker began the season with double-digit kill games in the doubleheader vs. Manhattan. In the first match, Baker tallied 19 kills. In the second match, Baker one-upped her performance, recording 20 kills and 17 digs, giving the Huntington Beach, Calif. Native her first double-double of the season. Baker continued her strong start to the season in the doubleheader vs. Canisius, matching her career high in kills with 25 in the first match. She tallied 17 in the second match for the Bobcats.
THE BOBCATS IN 2019
Quinnipiac posted a 14-16 overall record, including an 8-10 MAAC record, good enough for the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament. In the tournament, the Bobcats upset No. 3 Rider and No. 2 Canisius en route to their second conference championship appearance in program history. The Bobcats would fall in the MAAC championship game to No. 1 Fairfield, 3-1.
2021 SEASON FORMAT
The Bobcats are set to play a 10 game conference-only slate, consisting of five doubleheader matchdays. The 2020-21 MAAC volleyball season culminates at the MAAC championships, hosted by the Albany Capital Center in Albany, N.Y. on April 1-3.

SECOND YEAR UNDER ROBINSON
Quinnipiac head coach Kyle Robinson became the first coach in program history to lead the Bobcats to a conference championship game in their first season as head coach. Robinson led the Bobcats to their highest win total and first conference championship game appearance since the 2016 season.
PRESEASON POLL
Quinnipiac was picked as the No. 2 team in the 2020-21 MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bobcats received one first place vote and 80 total points in the poll.
THE FIVE NEWCOMERS
Quinnipiac welcomed five new faces to the program for the 2020-21 season. First years Ava Koszalka, Kristina Peric, Chloe Ka'ahanui and Lexi Morse are looking forward to their first seasons of college volleyball, while Junior Nicole Legg comes to Hamden as a transfer from South Florida.
RETURNING TO HAMDEN
The Bobcats return five of the seven starters from the MAAC Championship game in 2019. Six of the top seven kill getters from 2019 return for the Bobcats.
